I remember the first time I laid my eyes on the periodic table of elements and thought to myself, “what an awesome discovery this is!” Naturally, the first periodic table that I bought was colored, with each group having a distinct color.
Fast forward to today when I find myself not using the table anymore. I kinda missed the idea of looking at the atomic numbers and chemical symbols of elements — yeah yeah, I know, geeky stuff. Suddenly, this EDM song comes blasting on the radio, and I find myself bopping to the tune. It’s “Titanium” by David Guetta featuring Sia.
Almost immediately, I remember that titanium is an element. And then my mind started to wonder: Are there any other songs with element names as the title? As it turns out, there are quite a few.
Ladies and gentlemen, I bring you this list of song titles from the periodic table of elements!
Please note that I tried to be as exhaustive as possible in my research of these songs:
- I chose songs with titles that used the element name and nothing else. Therefore, you won’t see “Tin Man” by America, or “Kryptonite” by 3 Doors Down.
- I didn’t include songs that were meant to refer to the elements themselves. Examples include educational songs about the elements or “Copper” by Shellac.
- I didn’t include songs from artists that only have a few fans. Only those with a considerable number of views on YouTube are included in this list.
